Leanne clayton

Dip. hyp. (paediatrics)

Leanne is an associate therapist working for us at Ed Elf Child Therapy and currently works with our neurotypical children who fit well with her skills and expertise. She is currently undertaking our CPD course in Working Therapeutically with Neurodivergent Children & Young Adults too.

Aside from Ed Elf, Leanne works as a Lead Therapeutic Practitioner working with young people in the care of a local authority. Leanne brings the skills and experience with her and we are delighted to have her on board!

She has studied Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Level 1, working with trauma and how this impacts on attachment styles and behaviours. Leanne delivers direct intervention with children and their parents or carers using the PACE model and tools to help co-regulate a child’s nervous system in order to bring them back into their window of tolerance. This helps a child to process and build securer attachments. She also uses narrative work, polyvagal theory, solution focused counselling and CBT techniques alongside Hypnotherapy. Leanne previously spent 3 years employed by CAMHS working with young people on an inpatient ward, working and supporting those young people with a wide range of mental health needs.
